Irish Jig

Highland dancers often compete in a dance called the jig.  The jig is a dance which mimics the movements of an angry Irish washer woman who's upset with her husband for staying out too long. She stomps her feet and waves her fist at him. This dance is performed wearing jig shoes and a simple red or green dress with a white apron.

Julie models a red jig dress. The dress is made from a simple dress pattern. She wears Molly's tap shoes in lieu of the tradional red or green jig shoes.

A close-up of the jig apron. I created my own pattern for this project.
